First half exciting, players going for it –
an early goal from Lewandowski. Always helps make a game more exciting. Great equalizer
for Portugal, via a deflection, evened things up.
Second half boring. Extra
time turgid. Penalties, gripping as ever. All on target, but one saved and
Poland go home. Portugal have yet to win a game in 90 mins. And they have
reached the semi-final.
While the expanded format has freshened up the
tournament with new faces, going on the old tournament format, Portugal would
not have made it out of the group stage.
