EURO 2016 Semi Final Predictions

PORTUGAL v WALES
The dragons have the form, the momentum, the most expensive player in the world. Ronaldo is due a stormer. He has missed many chances. He won’t keep missing many chances. This one is going to extra time with Wales winning it with a Bale free-kick. 1-2

GERMANY v FRANCE

The team I’ve predicted to win it are still in it. But they face their biggest challenge yet. Who can stop Deutschland? This one is going all the way to penalties, with France snatching it. 1-1  (France 7-6 on pens).

Who Will Be The Euro 2016 Semi Finalists?

This thing starts tomorrow, so for my predictions to be worth anything, we need the winner revealed by then. So let’s get on to see who will win the Euro2016 Quarter Finals and therefore make the Euro 2016 Semi Finals. Here’s how I think it will pan out, based on a hunch as I eat my lunch.

POLAND v SPAIN
If the Poles make the quarters as I’ve predicted, that’ll be seen as a big success for them. Spain will be expected to go all the way. So the pressure’s on them. But they’ve been here before, of course. Winners of the last two Euros. And I believe they will still have enough to triumph here in extra time.

RUSSIA v SWEDEN
Glory awaits one of these teams, hardly big tournament semi-final regulars. The difference – Zlat. His last Euros. The last chance to prove his worth to his nation. And I believe he will. He’s proved he’s a big player for the big occasion and he’ll prove it again here. Another close one, but settled in the 90.

GERMANY v BELGIUM
Tie. Of. The. Round. Both quality young teams. No one would complain if either of these won the whole tournament. How can you bet against the German world champions? They always get it done when the pressure’s on. And it will be here. But Belgium will take the short trip home after this.

FRANCE v ENGLAND

Forget the Entente Cordiale. This will be a battle between England’s young lions and le hosts. How often do England get to the quarter finals of a tournament and lose on penalties? Surely it can’t happen again? It could, but I think the French will win this before it gets that far. England to go home heads held high, labeled ‘ones to watch in 2018’.
