You could feel it slipping away. The Spaniards had started majestically against Croatia, and deservedly had the lead. But they were pegged back. And then towards the end a winner for the Croats seemed inevitable, and so it proved. They win the group. By beating the holders. Minus arguably their star player (Modric). Bodes well for the rest of the tournament.
In the other game, Turkey finally showed some of the quality I expected more of from them, the Czech Republic had a bad tournament and deserve to be going home.
