Contrast Deutschland’s destruction of
Slovakia with England’s tame 0-0 and you see the gulf in class, right there, a quality gap that's insurmountable
in this tournament.
Germany looked up for this right from kick
off, clearly wanting to put this to bed before their half time oranges. And if
Ozil had tucked away his penalty instead of delivering it at a savable height,
they probably would have succeeded.
As it was the final result was never in
doubt from the glances I took at my screen. A tide of black and white. The
Germans have come alive, and that’s bad news for every other team.
