They Finished 16th: SWITZERLAND

They will be remembered for one man's goal.

Shaquiri's overhead stunner from the edge of the box to draw level in their Round Of 16 clash with Poland. It took the game to extra time, gave the Swiss the advantage and impetus. But they fell due to a wild penalty miss.

Granit Xhaka, the Arsenal-bound culprit, is likely to endure the kind of status afforded to Gareth Southgate and Chris Waddle for penalty misses in big tournaments - although at least Southgate's was on target.
